Overview
We are blessed to live on one of the most beautiful islands in the world. The price we pay is being isolated and unable to take advantage of knowledge and expertise on special needs topics available on the continental U.S.As in all things, Hawaii has limited resources in the area of special needs. Information and professionals to help autistic children and individuals are even more scarce. It is our hope to bring experts from the mainland to Maui to educate individuals and families affected by autism, and professionals and service providers in the field.

Autism is the third most common developmental disability affecting more than one in every 150 births. Nearly 200 Maui County school-aged children are currently affected by autism alone. Autism Bridges Maui (a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization) sponsors the Autism/PDD Family Support Group. Our goal is to help families affected by autism, PDD-NOS, and other neurological disorders that are all puzzling and complex. All funds raised goes to helping families with autism and community awareness events. Please click here to see the programs and events Autism Bridges Maui holds in order to help Maui families find support, education, and find a way to heal. With support from our generous donors, ABM is able to help bring much needed resources to families of children with autism, no matter what age.

Any donation of support is welcomed and greatly appreciated. Your donation is tax deductible.

Past Successes

Autism Bridges Pizza Night Fundraisers have been a fun way to enjoy Pizza with friends and family, and help out at the same time. All Hawaii orders on Pizza Night fundraisers benefit Autism Bridges Maui.

“Glam, Glitz, and Gold” a VIP Style Event was held at Mala’s in the Wailea Marriott in August, 2010. A fun night of clothes, spa services, jewelry, and food was held to raise awareness about autism here on Maui. Owner of VIP Style, Cherisse Nichole graciously donated a portion of the proceeds to Autism Bridges Maui from that evening. Thank you Cherisse!

In late summer of 2010 The Four Seasons Resort at Wailea held a 12 week Wellness Program that they offered to hotel guests and the community. For one week they featured music educator and researcher Dr. Arthur W. Harvey who spoke on music’s adaptive techniques to combating autism and other neurological disorders. A portion of their ticket sales was generously donated to Autism Bridges Maui. Thank you Four Season’s for your generous support!

Wailea Marriott Resort and Spa and Capricorn Events teamed up in November 2007 to raise money for Autism awareness. Together they donated a percentage of their admission fee from their luau to Autism Bridges Maui. Marriott Maui Ocean Club matched that donation amount. We acknowledge their generosity and support to our community.

Artists for Autism

Food, Music, and Art come together for a good cause. On April 7, 2008, Jacques Restaurant in Paia hosted “Artists for Autism”; a fundraising event to help raise public awareness for Autism. A portion of all proceeds was donated to Autism Bridges.
