Outreach
Police Recruit Trainings are held in conjunction with the Mental Health Association on Maui. Our goal is to provide new recruits information and awareness about individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. There are no telltale signs or physical characteristics of Autism. These first responders need to understand the sometimes subtle or indiscernible characteristics of autism when encountering individuals in the community. Our training covers recognizing characteristics and behaviors of autism, how to speak to someone on the spectrum, and the best way to handle different situations.Volunteers WANTED!
We are always looking for volunteers! There are so many ways to touch the lives of others by one small act of kindness.
